Patrick Fore is a commercial photographer, author, and podcaster based in San Diego. He spent four years as lead photographer at Taylor Guitars before going independent in 2022. He ignored the advice he was given, built a website every consultant told him was wrong, and brought in $124k in his first full year. He wrote a book about the gap between what the industry tells you and what actually works. He hosts a podcast about everything else.

Most photography books are written by masters showing off their trophies. They tell you to do what they do.

I am not a guru. I am the guy who failed at this so you don't have to.

I spent years obsessing over gear, comparing myself to others, and feeling like a fraud. I realized that "getting good" had nothing to do with the lens I was using and everything to do with how I saw the world.
